Take, for example, the Bingaman Lumber service known as S2S, short for “Surface two Sides,” which is a prepping service where we convert both sides of rough lumber to smooth, near-finished surfaces. Here, we run the customer’s choice of lumber through our high-speed planers, yielding a product with equalized thickness, and consistently-smooth surface on each side. Planed to nearly any given specification, the S2S service serves as a next finishing step for our customers. Not only is it one less step that a customer can eliminate from his/her manufacturing process, but it saves tremendously on equipment wear and tear, reducing maintenance costs and increasing the useful life of their machinery. The typical customers who request the S2S service include flooring providers, and cabinet and molding manufacturers.
